The IMCL Conference Series, part of IAOE’s international portfolio, reached an important milestone in 2025: it convened for the first time in Asia, hosted from 19–21 November 2025 at the Hilton Embassy Manyata Business Park in Bengaluru, India. Known as one of the world’s leading hubs of technological innovation, Bengaluru provided an inspiring setting for researchers, educators, and industry partners exploring the future of multimodal and AI-enhanced learning.
Multimodal learning technologies—integrating speech, text, gestures, vision, and haptics, enriched by artificial intelligence—enable interactive, adaptive, and highly personalized educational experiences. IMCL2025 examined these advances from pedagogical, technical, and societal perspectives, highlighting their implications for human–computer interaction, accessibility, and inclusive education.
With nearly 100 high-quality paper presentations and strong international participation, IMCL2025 offered a rich scientific program complemented by keynotes from global leaders in engineering education and digital transformation. IMCL2025 featured the following keynote contributions from distinguished international leaders:
-
Dr. Krishna Vedula (IUCEE; University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA)
His keynote emphasized learner-centric pedagogy supported by AI-enabled tools that enhance curriculum design, classroom interaction, and formative assessment. He shared insights from IUCEE’s work across India, where faculty are piloting learner-centered teaching practices strengthened by emerging technologies.
-
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhard Langmann (Chairman, EduNet World Association, Germany)
He highlighted the importance of global learning networks and remote laboratories in expanding access to practice-oriented engineering education. Presenting the Global Remote Lab Initiative (with IAOE and LACCEI), he showcased how cloud-based infrastructures and AI-supported learning factories—such as the All Electric Society (AES) Campus in China—demonstrate the potential of smart, sustainable engineering education.
These keynote perspectives, together with the diverse technical sessions, reinforced IMCL’s mission to advance e-learning, digital pedagogy, and multimodal communication research, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration among educators, researchers, policy makers, and industry partners.
The host city of Bengaluru offered the perfect backdrop—combining tech innovation, green spaces, rich history, and cultural vibrancy—ensuring that participants enjoyed both stimulating academic exchange and a memorable local experience.
Looking ahead, the series will continue with IMCL 2026, planned for November 2026 in Cyprus, further expanding the global reach of this growing community.
