The ICL-IGIP Conference Series, one of the most established and influential event platforms in collaborative and engineering education, will hold its 2026 edition in the vibrant city of Cologne, Germany. Organized in cooperation with TH Köln University of Applied Sciences and with the support of the University of Wuppertal, the conference will take place at the historic Wasserturm Hotel, a unique venue in the heart of the city.
For more than two decades, the ICL and IGIP communities have brought together researchers, educators, and industry partners from around the world to explore innovations in interactive and collaborative learning, engineering pedagogy, and digital transformation. The 2026 conference will continue this tradition by offering a forward-looking forum addressing emerging technologies and pedagogical challenges across domains such as:
AI in education, XR and immersive learning, online and remote laboratories, sustainability and green transition, engineering pedagogy and teacher education, quality and accreditation, diversity and inclusion, entrepreneurship, and real-world learning.
ICL-IGIP 2026 will feature internationally recognized keynote speakers, a rich program of thematic sessions, workshops, interactive demonstrations, and an active doctoral consortium supporting early-career researchers. The social program will invite participants to experience Cologne’s unique blend of culture, history, and innovation—offering both intellectual engagement and opportunities for meaningful professional exchange.
The conference welcomes a wide range of contributions, including research papers, work-in-progress reports, posters, doctoral projects, and proposals for workshops, special sessions, round tables, and interactive exhibitions. The conference is led by an experienced international team:
