New Issues Released: IAOE Highlights Latest Publications from Open-Access Journals on online-journal

Dominik May | Published on 9/24/2025

As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing engineering pedagogy and online education worldwide, the International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE) proudly supports online-journals.org — an open-access publishing platform dedicated to fostering high-quality research and innovation in online engineering, educational technologies, and related fields. All journals on this platform are published by the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), a long-standing strategic partner of IAOE. This collaboration reflects both organizations’ shared mission to promote inclusive, accessible, and future-oriented scholarship in engineering and STEM education globally.

Several flagship journals recently published new issues, offering fresh perspectives on laboratory-based education, emerging technologies in education, AI in educational contexts, mobile technologies, and innovative teaching practices. The following issues have been published recently:

International Journal of Online and Biomedical Engineering (iJOE) – Vol. 21, No. 11 (Sept 2025)

This issue presents diverse contributions at the intersection of engineering and biomedical innovation. Topics include a mobile robotics training kit for hands-on learning, a privacy-preserving AI model for rare disease diagnosis, deep learning tools for cancer risk assessment, and the development of a 3D-printed surgical planning prototype. Inclusive education is also addressed through case studies on assistive technology for students with multiple disabilities. For further details about iJOE and the latest issue see here

International Journal of Interactive Mobile Technologies (iJIM) – Vol. 19, No. 18 (Sept 2025)

The new iJIM issue highlights the evolving role of mobile devices in education, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Featured studies examine mobile learning in STEM, mobile-based legal advisory systems, AI-enhanced security models, and mobile AR for contextual language learning. Behavioral insights into students’ perceptions of AI and employment trends also appear alongside research on mobile-supported design and supply chain forecasting. For further details about iJIM and the latest issue see here

International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET) – Vol. 20, No. 03 (Aug 2025)

iJET’s latest issue explores how digital technologies enhance engagement and personalization in learning. Articles address inclusive teaching strategies, hybrid learning environments, student engagement detection through AI, and perceptions of generative AI in higher education. Additional studies examine EEG-supported game-based learning and immersive historical storytelling through virtual reality. For further details about iJET and the latest issue see here

International Journal of Engineering Pedagogy (iJEP) – Vol. 15, No. 5 (July 2025)

Focusing on pedagogy and faculty development, this issue includes findings on AI chatbot use in classrooms, motivation for instructional innovation, and problem-based learning in soft skills courses. Authors also discuss feedback from large language models in programming education, curriculum reform in 3D animation, and long-term integration of AR and IoT in technical schools. A closing short paper reflects on the interplay between engineering, art, and education. For further details about iJEP and the latest issue see here
