The International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE), in collaboration with Edunet World Association (EWA) and the International Education Network (EduNet), is pleased to announce that the Call for Papers for STE 2026, the 23rd International Conference on Smart Technologies & Education, is now open. Under the theme “The Synergy of Smart Industry and Education: Preparing for Tomorrow’s Workforce”, this year’s conference will be held from March 11 to 13, 2026, at Transilvania University of Brașov, Romania.
Focus and Format: A Hub for Smart Education Innovation
STE 2026 invites contributions that delve into the transformative intersections of smart technologies and education. Topics span from IoT, Industry 4.0, Cyber‑Physical Systems, and Smart Services to AI, Cross‑Reality, and open science in educational settings. Cutting-edge educational developments—such as virtual labs, MOOCs, and open learning environments—also form a critical part of the conversation.
A distinctive feature of the STE is the inclusion of Special Sessions, which run in parallel with the main program. These sessions are designed to foster concentrated discussions among researchers focused on specific themes within technology-enhanced learning and online engineering. Each Special Session operates under the same review and publication standards as main conference contributions and will be included in the Springer proceedings.
The EWA Young Talent Award seeks to recognize and support emerging scholars. Nominees enjoy full conference support—including travel, accommodation, and registration. Two winners will be chosen on-site, receiving cash awards of €1,000 and €500 respectively.
