The International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE) was prominently represented at the International Reception held during the 2025 ASEE Annual Conference in Montreal, Canada. This annual gathering, organized by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), brings together international delegates and organizations committed to advancing engineering education across borders.

Representing IAOE at the reception were President Dominik May and CEO Michael Auer, who engaged with peers from global partner organizations, strengthening existing collaborations and exploring new opportunities for international cooperation in online and remote engineering education.

In addition to participating in the reception, IAOE also served as a sponsor for the Best Paper Awards of the ASEE Experimentation and Laboratory-Oriented Studies (ELOS) Division. The association supported monetary prizes for outstanding contributions in the following categories:

  • Best ELOS Overall Paper
  • Best Bring-Your-Own-Experiment (BYOE) Paper
  • Best Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Paper
  • Best Student Paper

Through this sponsorship, IAOE reaffirmed its commitment to fostering excellence in engineering education, particularly in hands-on, experimental, and inclusive teaching practices.

The reception and the award sponsorship together served as valuable opportunities to showcase IAOE’s active role in the global engineering education community—supporting innovation, inclusivity, and international collaboration.

IAOE thanks ASEE for the invitation and the opportunity to contribute to this important dialogue on the future of engineering education worldwide.
